ANGELES CITY - Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. wants to put in focus the talents and skills of the city’s residents, by promoting “Gawang Angeleno” products from the city government’s proposed livelihood programs.
The city’s chief executive instructed Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, with Public Employment Services Officer Maria Rosa Teodora Basilio, City Social Welfare and Development Office Joy Duaso, Angeles City Economic Development and Investments Promotion Officer Irish Bonus-Llego, and Gender and Development Officer Mina Cabiles to discuss the creation of livelihood programs and how to best promote Angeleno-made products.
“Target naming beneficiaries ng livelihood program yung mga Angeles City Anti-Drug Abuse Council drug surenderees, non-working solo parents, and Persons With Disabilities (PWD), para makatulong tayo sa kanila lalo na ngayong panahon ng pandemya,” added Manuel.
Meanwhile, Bonus-Llego reiterated that the said initiative of the city government aims to hit two birds with one stone.
First, she said, is the promotion of locally-made products. Second, all sectors greatly affected by the pandemic would be given job opprtunities, as well as source of income.
Furthermore, the city government also plans to make use of the One Town One Product store (OTOP), in helping promote the products from the livelihood program.
