ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. seeks to ramp up the conduct of rapid mass testing to continuously contain the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease.
Lazatin made a statement on Saturday, May 9, through his public address posted on the City Information Office Facebook page.
Lazatin said that he is in constant coordination with the Philippine Red Cross, Provincial Government of Pampanga, and Department of Health to extend the City’s capabilities and resources to widen the conduct of rapid mass testing.
The objective of the mass testing is to identify asymptomatic patients, especially those on the frontlines, and isolate them immediately.
To date, 2,371 individuals already received their rapid mass testing, where probable cases, persons with exposure, and City Hall frontline workers were prioritized during mass testing.
“Nauna pong naitest ang mga probable cases, mga individuals na nagkaroon ng exposure at ang ating mga frontliners,” he said.
Lazatin also cited the dedication of health workers amid the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in their service to lead the mass testing.
