ANGELES CITY – “Wear face masks at all times when going out in public.”
Thus, said Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. in a public advisory issued on April 1, 2020.
Lazatin also tasked the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) and the local barangay officials to “reprimand individuals who are out in public without face masks” and gave them leave to send non-complying individuals home.
According to Lazatin, the directive is in line with the City Government’s safety measures against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
He furthered the City Government does not take the COVID-19 lightly and will continuously uphold strict enforcement of regulations for public safety.
“The coronavirus is a matter of public concern. We take the pandemic very seriously and uphold our mandate to protect our constituents in every way possible,” he said.
Mayor Lazatin also appealed to the public to strictly comply with the City Government’s safety measures, so as to not face sanctions.
“I am asking for your cooperation. Please follow the rules and regulations we have implemented for everyone’s safety. Those who will not follow will meet appropriate sanctions because it is our main interest to ensure the welfare of our people,” he added.
