ANGELES CITY – More than a hundred Angeleños were fined by the city government for loitering and not wearing face masks in public.
This after Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. ordered on Monday, August 3, the stricter implementation of COVID-19 health and safety protocols, specifically Ordinance 546 which penalizes individuals not wearing face masks, bringing quarantine passes, and loitering outside of their homes. The fine for first time violators was P1,000.
Mayor Lazatin also ordered to launch a massive information drive, to remind Angeleños of the city’s regulations and protocols against COVID-19.
In his continuing efforts to stop the spread of the virus in the city, Mayor Lazatin warned his residents of the consequences of violating the government’s health protocols.
Angeles City breached the 100th mark with its COVID-19 positive cases on August 6, as 9 new cases were reported in just 1 day.
