Lungsod ng Angeles (Official Page)
ANGELES CITY — The City Council took a leap on social media, as it launched its official Facebook page to stop the spread of fake news, and provide right and timely information to Angeleños regarding legislative measures.
Acknowledging the power of social media, especially if used properly, this was personally announced by Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting on July 21 during her privilege speech before members of the Sangguniang Panglunsod.
“The aim of this FB Page is to stay connected with our city residents on information relevant to legislative matters and other concerns so we could refrain from sharing fake news,” Vice Mayor Vega-Cabigting said.
The Vice Mayor encouraged her constituents to hit a like on the Facebook page, Angeles City Council, and feel free to ask questions regarding legislative concerns such as ordinances, resolutions, new legislation, and even schedule of the council’s session.
“The city government believes that public participation is one of the vital components to local government. Thus, ensuring our government to be more accountable and transparent to the public, Vice Mayor Vega-Cabigting shared.
Moreover, she also urged all Angeleños to pitch-in and contribute to the ongoing fight against COVID-19, saying, “Hinihikayat ko po ang lahat na isantabi muna po natin ang mga pamumulitika o ang pagpopromote sa sarili, bagkus ay tumulong na lamang para lalo po nating maitaas ang ating siyudad. Sana ay patuloy tayong magsama-samang labanan ang COVID-19.”
