ANGELES CITY — The celebration of New Year in Angeles City was quiet and peaceful, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. said.
“Payapa po ang nagdaang selebrasyon ng Bagong Taon sa siyudad,” Mayor Lazatin stressed.
This, after only two individuals were injured due to firecracker-related incidents, while one was nabbed for illegal selling in Angeles City during the recent celebration of New Year.
There are also no reports of individuals hit by stray bullets.
This was confirmed by Mayor Lazatin thru the inter-office reports of City Health Office, Angeles City Police Office, and Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center.
“Patunay lamang po na kung paiiralin natin ang disiplina sa sarili at malasakit sa kapwa, magiging mas matiwasay ang ating siyudad,” Mayor Lazatin said.
With this, he also cited the strict monitoring of ACPO in the implementation of prohibited firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices.
The Angeles City Police Station 5 apprehended an illegal seller of firecrackers in her rented stall.
The said suspect failed to present a permit upon inquiry of the police officers.
Violation of Republic Act 7183 was filed against the suspect at the Angeles City Prosecutor’s Office.
