ANGELES CITY– Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on August 6, 2024 led the ribbon cutting ceremony of the two state-of-the-art computer laboratories in public schools here, which are now available to use for the students.
Among the schools which opened their new computer labs are the Angeles City National Trade School and the Angeles City National High School.
Funded by the city government, two more computer labs at Northville 15 Integrated School is also set to open tomorrow, August 7, 2024.
The new four state-of-the-art computer laboratories are part of the ICT Modernization Program of Mayor Lazatin, one of his campaign promises, underscoring the importance of technology in providing quality education.
Joining Mayor Lazatin during the ribbon-cutting and turnover ceremony are Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, City Councilors Atty. Arvin Suller, Marino Bañola, Danilo Lacson, Edu Pamintuan, Alexander Indiongco, Cris Cortez, JC Aguas, Raco Del Rosario, and Jesus Sangil, ABC President Danilo Nacu, Department of Education Angeles City Schools Division Superintendent Engr. Edgard Domingo, General Services Officer Evangeline Malonzo, Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer Irish Bonus-Llego, and City Engineer’s Officer-in-Charge Helen Ayro.
“SDO Angeles City is very grateful for the support of the Local Government Unit in intensifying the ICT skills of Angeleno learners through upgrading the computer laboratories in select schools.
This is a great opportunity to help teachers and learners embrace the digital world of education in support to the MATATAG Agenda by producing job-ready and digital literate Angelenos,” Engr. Domingo said.
Each laboratory is equipped with 40 computers.
For Angeles City High School and Northville 15 Integrated School, it will designate three rooms each as computer laboratories, and two rooms each for Angeles City National Trade School Junior High School and Angeles City National Trade School Senior High School.
Apart from the 40 computers in each lab, the city government also provided computer tables, chairs, printers, air conditioning units, smart televisions, and fiber optics internet connection.
To recall, it is during the stint of Mayor Lazatin that the first-class Angeles City Library was also established.
