ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. announced the reappointment of Dr. Frankie Villanueva as City College of Angeles President, starting on November 7, 2024.
Lazatin said the experience of Dr. Villanueva will bode well for the development of the city-run college.
“With Dr. Villanueva at the helm of CCA, I know positive developments will be realized in the institution,” Lazatin said.
Dr. Villanueva is known as a professor, and lecturer on business management, and served as director of the state-run Clark Development Corporation.
With the reappointment of Dr. Villanueva, Lazatin vows to continue uplifting quality education for CCA, and pushing additional buildings and classrooms to accommodate more scholars, hire more teachers, and offer more courses.
To recall, seven bachelor programs from the CCA were accredited by the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA) during Dr. Villanueva’s first stint as CCA president.
The said accreditation brings privileges to CCA for qualification to apply and receive grants and scholarships for faculty, students, and staff; receive grants for research and extension projects; consultative assistance in the deployment of their students in internship, among others.
Among the bachelor programs which received the certification of accreditation are Bachelor of Library and Information Science, Bachelor of Science (BS) in Entrepreneurship, BS in Tourism Management, BS in Computer Science, BS in Information Systems, Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education.
