Angeles City achieves back-to-back Gawad Kalasag awards

ANGELES CITY -- The administration of Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr., has once again awarded as fully compliant in the 24th Gawad Kalasag Awards on November 28, 2024.

This award reflects the effective strategies and proactive measures implemented by the Angeles City Council to ensure safety and resilience against disasters.

Lazatin acknowledged the efforts and hardwork of the ACDRRMO headed by Rodolfo Simeon for ensuring a disaster-prepared city.

"We are very proud of this achievement. Maraming salamat po sa dedikasyon at walang sawang pagtatrabaho ng ating team sa pagseguro sa kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan,” Lazatin said.

The Gawad Kalasag awards, which celebrate exemplary practices in disaster risk management, serve as a benchmark for local government units across the Philippines.

“This award motivates us to continue to ensure safety and resilience against disaster,” ACDRRMO Chief Simeon said.

To recall, this is the second Gawad KALASAG award for Angeles City under Mayor Lazatin. In 2023, Angeles City is also fully compliant with the 2023 Gawad KALASAG.
