ANGELES CITY– Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. is set to unveil four state-of-the-art computer laboratories in public schools that will soon be available for students, starting this August.
Funded by the city government, among the schools to benefit from these new laboratories are Northville 15 Integrated School, Angeles City National Trade School - Junior High School, Angeles City National Trade School - Senior High School, and Angeles City National High School.
The new four state-of-the-art computer laboratories are part of the ICT Modernization Program of Mayor Lazatin, one of his campaign promises, underscoring the importance of technology in providing quality education.
“This initiative to establish the laboratories aims to equip students with digital skills and knowledge necessary for the digital age,” Mayor Lazatin said.
Upon the order of Mayor Lazatin, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas on July 30, 2024, had a meeting with Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, department heads, and chief of offices at the Mayor’s Office Conference Room for the preparation of the ribbon cutting ceremony.
During the meeting, Calaguas tasked General Services Officer Evangeline Malonzo and Angeles City Economic Development Investment Promotions Office Head Irish Bonus-Llego, to oversee the ocular inspection of the newly-constructed laboratories, prior the ribbon cutting ceremony.
According to Bonus-Llego, each laboratory will be equipped with 40 computers.
For Angeles City High School and Northville 15 Integrated School, it will designate three rooms each as computer laboratories, and two rooms each for Angeles City National Trade School Junior High School and Angeles City National Trade School Senior High School.
In addition to 40 computers in each lab, the city government also provided computer tables, chairs, printers, air conditioning units, smart televisions, and fiber optics internet connection.
To recall, it is during the stint of Mayor Lazatin that the first-class Angeles City Library was established.
