Angeles City, Pampanga -- Under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., the Angeles City Government will begin the house-to-house distribution of P1,000 cash assistance and five kilos of rice to registered solo parents in the city begining on the second week of January.

A total of 2,500 registered solo parents across the city’s 33 barangays will benefit from this initiative, marking a positive start to the new year for the recipients.

The program, a marching order from Mayor Lazatin, was discussed during a preparatory meeting led by Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel on January 2.

The distribution will be carried out by key departments, including the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs led by Eduardo Torres, the Gender and Development Office headed by Mina Cabiles, and the City Nutrition Office under Officer-in-Charge Francis De Guzman.

City Solo Parents Affairs Focal Person Joy Marie Dela Cruz emphasized that the beneficiaries are those registered with the Solo Parents Affairs Office.

“This initiative shows that Mayor Lazatin never forgets the solo parents in our city. It’s heartwarming that we are among the first sectors prioritized this year. We are deeply grateful for this assistance, which addresses many of our essential needs,” Peñaranda said.

Mayor Lazatin reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the city’s solo parents, stating, “This is our promise -- that no Angeleño, especially solo parents, will be left behind.”

The program underscores the administration’s dedication to uplifting the lives of vulnerable sectors and ensuring that essential aid reaches those who need it most.
