ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. has ordered the distribution of thermal guns and face masks to all six Rural Health Units (RHUs), 28 Sub Health Centers, and entry and exit checkpoints in the city.
Upon the order of Mayor Lazatin, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel also distributed two units of thermal guns and face masks at the City Hall building and its offsite offices, as well as at checkpoints in the city.
Mayor Lazatin said the distribution aims to provide additional aid to the ground level in order to be more proactive against the coronavirus disease (COVID 19).
“This virus outbreak is a matter of public concern. Therefore, we must address it as a whole, making sure we are providing the best possible support on the ground level because this is where it begins. For us to properly address the virus, we must be many steps ahead of it,” he said.
He said further that the distribution of the equipment is a method of enforcing strict safety measures in the city, ensuring that everyone is properly monitored.
“For everyone to be safe, we need consistent monitoring and preventive measures. We need to be wary of possible symptoms and address them accordingly. This way no one in the city would be left behind during this outbreak,” he added.
It can be recalled that Mayor Lazatin ordered the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other medical equipment including testing kits as part of the drastic measures of the City against COVID-19.
He is also reminding the public to utilize the Quick Response Team of the local government by calling the 24/7 hotlines manned by the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) and to follow the set guidelines in case of COVID 19 suspected cases.
