ANGELES CITY – The local government employees here will receive today their Service Recognition Incentive (SRI), amounting to P7,000 each, exactly five days after they received their P3,000 Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) bonus.
Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. has released P9.1 million for the SRI of some 1,308 permanent, casual and contractual employees.
"Dahil po sa kasipagan ng Business Permit and Licensing Division (BPLD) staff, nagdesisyon po ako na magpasa ng supplemental budget no. 5, na naaprubahan naman po noong Dec. 12 ng ating Vice Mayor at mga Councilor," he said.
It can be recalled that Mayor Lazatin announced on Dec. 13, during the Fellowship Night: Recognition of Employees and Personnel 2019, that he sought the approval of the City Council, led by Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, for the Supplemental Budget no. 5.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte authorized the grant of SRIs to government employees for the Fiscal Year 2019.
He signed Administrative Order no. 19 on Dec. 2 to further recognize and encourage the unwavering commitment and dedication of government employees in performing their efficient and effective respective functions of work.
Meanwhile, Norma Caba, permanent staff of the Mayor’s Office, said the bonus she will receive will be spent for Noche Buena with her family, and other house expenses.
She then thanked the efforts of Mayor Lazatin to push for additional bonuses for the employees, citing also the fast process for the distribution of the P3,000 CNA and SRI.
The P3,000 CNA bonus of the employees were already given last Dec. 13, which was coordinated by Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel with City Treasurer Juliet Quinsaat.
