ANGELES CITY –Local Small and Micro Entrepreneurs (SMEs) and merchants from neighboring towns marked a P1,127,346.00 income in the three-day Diskwento Caravan of the Angeles City Economic Development Office (ACEDIPO).
In partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Pampanga Office, the event was held last November 29 to December 1, 2019 at the Plaza Anghel in Barangay Sto. Rosario, which catered products of various Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the city and nearby towns.
According to Irish Llego, ACEDIPO Officer-in-Charge, among the local products sold and displayed during the caravan were prime and basic commodities such as rice and other food products, bags, clothing and apparel, shoes, and some arts and crafts and food items made by local micro and small entrepreneurs.
She also mentioned the all-out-support of Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr., thru Executive Asst. IV Reina Manuel, in strengthening programs for the local MSMEs.
The Mayor said that one of his priority programs in his administration is to boost more the local micro and small entrepreneurs.
It can be recalled that last September, the Mayor opened the Angeles City’s One Town One Product (OTOP) or the Angeles City’s Souvenir Shop to the public, which exhibits food and non-food items manufactured by members of the Angeles City Association of Micro and Small Enterprises (ACAMASE), as well as art works of local artists from Culture and Arts Council of Angeles (CACA).
Furthermore, the Mayor mentioned that among his programs for ACEDIPO in 2020 are the creation of an investment guide; and to develop and market locally grown coffee beans.
Meanwhile, Llego also mentioned that the amount generated from the caravan includes negotiated sales or orders for delivery on specific dates.
