ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. wants medicines readily available, as the City Government regularly distributes supplies to the six Rural Health Units (RHUs) and City Hall’s Dispensary Unit.
In line with the city’s agenda of better access to public health, the City offers free and ready medicines to Angeleños.
The Mayor also prompted the doctors of the City to stay in their respective assigned centers during their designated duty hours.
“We are monitoring our RHUs to ensure that there will be no complaints that there are no medical staff in our centers. Kapag po trabaho, trabaho. Ibalik po natin ang magandang serbisyo sa tao, dahil po ang ating sweldo ay nanggagaling sa gobyerno. Ayoko pong makarinig na may mga kababayan akong nagkakasakit dahil walang doctor sa center na malapit sa kanila,” he said.
According to Mayor Lazatin, for those who want to visit the City’s Puso Center, doctors are on-duty every 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, for check-ups and other health services such as dental, animal bite treatment, and minor surgery. When in need of medicines prescribed by doctors, medicines are free and always available at the City Hall’s Dispensary Unit, he said.
Apart from this, the City Government is also delivering door-to-door medical assistance.
It can be recalled that when Lazatin was still a Councilor, he was already delivering medicines to his constituents.
“This is our effort to strengthen our City's health programs. Better access to public health service is a must. Kapag walang may sakit, lahat ay may kakayahan para maging produktibo. Produktibo para sa mas progresibong pamayanan,” he added.
