ANGELES CITY – In line with the city's strict efforts against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Mayor Carmelo 'Pogi' Lazatin Jr. has implemented a city-wide continuous and regular disinfection of all public places here.
The disinfection will cover all 76 Day Care Centers, 28 Sub-Health Centers, six Rural Health Units, Churches of different faiths, terminals and Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) and major thoroughfares in the city.
According to Lazatin, the disinfection follows the protocol of the Department of Health (DOH) that encourages the public to practice proper hygiene and cleanliness to combat the virus.
"Aside from travel restrictions and checkpoints, we want to assure everyone that public places are clean and disinfected because lack of hygiene makes the virus thrive and grow. And so, we want to take every single step in preventing the virus from entering our city," said Lazatin.
He furthered the public has the assurance that the local government will not falter in its commitment to serve the people amid COVID-19.
It can be recalled that the City Government already disinfected public schools during the first week of the class suspensions.
