ANGELES CITY -- Mayor Carmelo 'Pogi' Lazatin Jr. has ordered the banning of provincial buses in all entry points of the city amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) threat.
However, public transport in the city such as jeepneys, tricycles, and Blue Taxi, among others, will still continue to operate observing at least one-meter social distancing, as well as wearing face masks and providing free alcohol or hand sanitizers to passengers, according to Mayor Lazatin.
He further said the Public Transportation and Regulatory Officers will strictly monitor if provincial buses are complying.
"We will not allow anyone to get past this protocol because we are doing everything to avoid introducing the virus in the city. Therefore we will be strict and thorough with our checkpoints," said Lazatin.
Meanwhile, 24-hour checkpoints have also been set-up in all entry and exit points of the City to restrict the entry of foreign nationals from countries severely hit by the said disease.
