ANGELES CITY – The Angeles City Government released a systematic guideline response in case there are reported cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) at the barangay level.
“Importanteng sumunod ang lahat, mayaman man o mahirap, sa patakarang ito ng pamahalaang panglungsod upang masigurong maligtas ang buong syudad sa corona virus,” he said.
According to Mayor Carmelo 'Pogi' Lazatin Jr., it is important for the local government to have a systematic and orderly response flow at the ground level, to assure a proper and thorough response to the public health concern.
Furthermore, Chief Adviser and Tactician IC Calaguas discussed the process of the city's response team where the individual must first call the official 24/7 emergency hotlines manned by the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO).
The hotlines are as follows: 045 322 7796 (landline); 0917 851 9581 (Globe); and 0998 842 7746 (Smart).
Calaguas further said that upon receiving the call, the Quick Response Team (QRT), Barangay officials or the Barangay Health and Emergency Response Team (BHERT), and members of the Angeles City Police Office will head to the location within 15 minutes.
Once at the location, the patient will be put under house quarantine together with all members of the household whom he or she had contact with.
She said if confirmed positive for COVID-19, the patient will be taken out of the house and transferred to the container van facilities installed near the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC).
Meanwhile, according to Executive Asst. IV Reina Manuel, Mayor Lazatin already inspected the said container van. He also ordered the purchase of face masks, biohazard suits, and other medical equipment including COVID-19 testing kits to ensure that the city is ready amid the current state of public health emergency.
Upon the transfer of the patient, the house will be disinfected and the family will continuously be monitored by the QRT.
“The City Government will also distribute Information Educational Communication campaign materials at the ground level for public awareness,” Manuel said.
Moreover, the Mayor is appealing to the public that “if you have symptoms, do not go to the hospital by yourself, call the ACDRRMO hotline and the QRT will come for you.”
