ANGELES CITY- Government employees of this highly urbanized city are set to receive their mid-year bonuses this week as per the directive of Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan.

Mayor Pamintuan, who is currently attending the World Cities Summit 2017 in China, directed the local finance team to ensure the speedy release of the incentives.

“Our government personnel are the key players on why the city government has been reaping several awards and recognitions for the past years,” Pamintuan said.

“Basing it on the overall performance of the city, and with the kind of public service that our government employees here in the city have been extending to our constituents, this is a well-deserved incentive and a motivation for them,” the mayor added.

The mid-year bonus is equivalent to one (1) month basic salary which shall be given to all plantilla personnel not earlier than May 15.

Releasing of the mid-year bonus is covered under Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Circular No. 2012-2 and applies to all government positions, whether regular, casual, or co-terminus in nature; elective or appointive; fulltime or part-time.

The granting of Mid-Year Bonuses for employees working in Government Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) shall be determined by their respective governing boards.

Eduardo Sanchez, President of the Association of Government Employees for a New and Dynamic Angeles City (AGENDA), has lauded Mayor Pamintuan for advocating the rights and privileges of the city hall government workers.

“This incentive is a great help to our fellow workers in the local government. This will greatly aid their families, especially those parents who are still sending their children to school,” said Sanchez.
